What does literature sound like? And what sounds do texts have? Munich - read & listen is an encounter with creative people from "Isar-Athens" to "Wahnmoching" and today's Munich. Join Michael Schleicher and the Ensemble Luise on a literary and musical stroll through the decades of Munich's cultural development!
In his book "München. Lesen und lesen lassen", the author and journalist Michael Schleicher formulates a declaration of love to the world of books and delves into Munich's cultural development based on the history of the L. Werner bookshop, which is one of the oldest in the city at more than 140 years old. After all, bookshops are much more than just places where books are sold. Their history itself tells stories.
Michael Schleicher is accompanied by the Ensemble Luise, which makes the decades resound: The journey takes the musicians and the author from the end of the 19th century through the wild 1920s to the present day. An evening in which books swing to the beat of the music, a journey through Munich past and present, a literary concert and a celebration of reading.
