Münchhausen - oder: Freuds letzte Reise

On the eve of the Second World War, a strange old man who claims to have come from picking strawberries on the moon lands in a balloon on the roof of Buckingham Palace. He introduces himself as Baron Munchausen. The British secret service bites its teeth into the man and decides to consult an authority who is in exile in London at the time: the psychologist Sigmund Freud. At first, he is not at all enthusiastic about spending his days with a madman, but eventually agrees - not entirely voluntarily. Initially, he also fails with his analysis, but then he discovers facts and figures in the baron's apparent fairy tales. He asks questions and the two completely different characters begin to grow closer, while reality and fiction become blurred...

Based on the comic of the same name by Flix/Kissel, Sönke Andresen has written a play full of fantasy and magic about what's happening, what's truth and what's lies. But isn't life too short and too beautiful to even ask this question?
