München narrisch - Münchner Freiluft Fasching

The wildest days of carnival are its last. One of the highlights of the carnival season is the "München Narrisch" open-air carnival in the city center. The colorful hustle and bustle is planned for 2024 from February 11 to 13 with stages on Marienplatz and Karlsplatz-Stachus. Numerous music and dance groups perform here on the carnival days.

The market women's dance on Shrove Tuesday, February 13, followed by carnival hustle and bustle at Viktualienmarkt is legendary. While the market women, as they proudly call themselves, used to dance individually around their stalls, today they present themselves together in colorful costumes on a podium to exuberant music. Beer, wine, sparkling wine and mulled wine are sold at the market stalls instead of fruit and vegetables.
