"Remix Almanya - A Post-Migrant Hip Hop Story" rewrites the history of hip hop. Murat Güngör and Hannes Loh bury "Deutschrap" and examine the country's biggest pop culture as the first post-migrant phenomenon that changed Germany forever. With a feel for the scene and a critical view of politics and society, together with music journalist Uh-Young Kim, they trace the astonishing development from so-called guest worker to rap star - along historical upheavals, racism and empowerment against all odds.

Important voices from migrant, black and transnational communities take center stage for the first time and have their say - including rap artists Xatar, Eko Fresh, Apsilon, Ebow, Megaloh or the Anadolu rock band ENGIN, filmmaker Cem Kaya, writer Dinçer Güçyeter, podcaster and presenter Miriam Davoudvandi, as well as hip-hop researcher Dr. Heidi Süß and migration expert Prof. Dr. Naika Foroutan.
