Free event series "Music in the district" enters its second year

Five venues, four hours of music and many different performances: After its premiere last year, the "Music in the District" series of events is entering its second round. On September 28, amateur music groups from all over Freiburg can perform in the St. Georgen district from 3 to 7 pm. There is an expense allowance for the 30 or 60-minute performances. In the event of bad weather, the concerts will be canceled without substitution.

Musicians from all over Freiburg who would like to perform here can register at www.freiburg.de/musik-im-stadtteil by May 31. Interested parties can clarify any unanswered questions at an information event on Monday, March 4, at 5:30 p.m. in the Scheunensaal of the St. Georgen parlor, Blumenstraße 9.

Whether accordion, bandura, rubab, violin or trumpet: everyone is invited to make the city's musical diversity audible. By the end of June, an advisory board made up of local stakeholders, the migrant advisory board and the cultural office will decide who will perform.

"Music in St. Georgen" takes place in cooperation with the St. Georgen Citizens' Association, the St. Georgen Music Association and the City of Freiburg's Migrant Advisory Council.

In the "Music in the District" series of events, a local music festival takes place in a different district every year - giving ensembles, orchestras and music projects by amateurs a stage. However, the format not only relies on participation in the music, but also in the organization. Actors from the district decide on the date, location and program together with the Department of Culture. The Cultural Office organizes and finances the event.
