Driven by her own fascination for the materiality of sound, Shiva Feshareki creates musical alchemy at its finest: 360-degree listening worlds that reveal the fluid interplay between sound and spatial physics. Her samples are based on the voices of Chorwerk Ruhr and the works sung live by them on the concert evening: guest conductor Martina Batic has put together a program from her native Slovenia that revolves around the line "My tears become my bread" from Psalm 42 - linked to the question of how the feeling of abandonment can be transformed into new confidence.
