About the book
The morning of February 24, 2022 starts like any other day for Natascha. And then her children's German teacher stands at the school gate and cries. Since the beginning of the war of aggression against Ukraine, Natasha has kept a diary and noted how paralyzing fear, shame and horror spread through her, while all around her life goes on as if nothing had happened. How individuals dare to take to the streets to protest despite the threat of draconian punishments. How the suffering of Ukraine is perceived (or not). And how language is coming under pressure - how can we still talk and communicate with each other in a country that bans the use of more and more words?
