In the organizer's words:

New Year's concert with works by Shostakovich, Wagner, Rossini, Mozart, Saint-Saëns and the Strauss family

To mark the New Year, the Nuremberg State Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of its General Music Director Roland Böer, invites you on a musical journey around the world. The first part of the concert will feature well-known overtures and rarities from the concert literature, while the composers of the Strauss dynasty will act as travel companions in the second part.

Gioachino Rossini: Overture to "William Tell"
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Overture to "The Abduction from the Seraglio"
Camille Saint-Saëns: Bacchanal from "Samson and Dalila"
After the interval waltzes and co. by the Strauss family
