Jessica Murdock is on the run. The young woman with the bloodied face only just manages to escape her pursuers. It's not the first dicey situation she's been in and it won't be the last. While the young woman, played by Hayley Erin, makes her way north through the American hinterland, the FBI hires experienced special agent Elsa Gray (Sonya Walger) to track her down and bring her to justice.

But the former best agent in her field has her own personal demons to contend with: an incurable illness in its early stages, which she conceals from her employer, prevents the investigator from continuing to do her job at the level she and her colleagues are used to. Nevertheless, Gray sets off in search of the mysterious Mrs. Murdock. A cat-and-mouse game develops between the two women, in the course of which Gray begins to question whether she is really on the side of the good guys. Until the first deaths appear.
