Small house
Immersive music theater by Emmerig / Horwitz / Hut Kono / Petrović / Vincze
Composition: Davor Vincze
Musical direction: Premil Petrovic
Director: Heinrich Horwitz
The production "Freedom Collective" operates at the interface of different realities. The audience is invited to immerse themselves in an immersive theater labyrinth and lose themselves in parallel worlds of experience.
An adventure story in a possible near future: in an underground club called "Freedom Collective", visitors enter virtual worlds. Fan, the main character, is on a quest to fulfill elementary desires, while remaining torn between conflicting human relationships and divergent realities.
In this capitalist underworld, where drug excesses, doping attempts and the insatiable desire for entertainment reign, Fan and Kämpfer:fall in love with Andrei. The result is a love story that, in the end, we don't know whether it actually takes place or is just a fiction born out of longing.
A production by Emmerig / Horwitz / Hut Kono / Vincze as part of "NOperas!" - an initiative of the Fonds Experimentelles Musiktheater (feXm). Jointly sponsored by NRW KULTURsekretariat and Kunststiftung NRW, in cooperation with Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen, Theater Bremen and Staatstheater Darmstadt.
