Nora lives well. Sheltered. She decorates the Christmas tree. The little lark, the little songbird as her husband Torvald calls her. She's good at that. She does it well. Little Nora. She's just not good with money. It doesn't suit her. And Torvald takes every opportunity to tell her that.

But it's not all that bad, because he loves his little nightingale. The Helmers family seem to live in the splendor of the upper ten thousand. They bathe in it, because all you ever have to say to yourself is: "Everything is fine." - And then you put your worries to one side. They won't catch up with you. One day, an old friend appears at the door. Christine. How nice of you to come and visit us. And Christine knows the right questions to ask. She smiles, she listens. And who better to tell the worries you've put aside than an old friend? Torvald has recently become head of a joint stock bank. Prosperity is assured. If only it weren't for these worries. And then this Krogstad shows up ... And the past that you have made so beautiful, that you have nurtured, that you have so successfully locked away, now appears and the doll's home fears for its splendor...
