Norbert Diemert "The form in the head"

Stone sculptures and photographic art

Norbert Diemert finds inspiration for his free forms through observations in everyday life and in nature. He is not interested in imitating or simply depicting the impressions he finds, but in symbolizing tensions.

"The form in the head. From bold to concrete. No matter, it wants to get out! Approaching the stone. Making a connection. Lines. Outlines. Possibilities. Intuition also guides the hand.
Patiently removing millions of years. Awe ! Glittering stone splashes on all sides. Noise. Dust. Doubt. Guessing the shape. The direction is right. Always tired. On and on. But stop. Pause. Wait and see. New perspectives. Then concrete. Was it planned like this?
The first polish. So much time. With vigor and feeling. The grain becomes finer Thoughts more fleeting. Close to the target. Only caution. Create with care.
The result with pride. Shaped by me. The humble realization. The stone has left me! Satisfied languor. A gentle urge for more.
The shape in my head. From daring to concrete. No matter, she wants out!"

Based on Diemert's sculptures, he has also created photographic works of a special kind. Large-format, monochrome facial landscapes, drawn on canvas, contrast with colorful "oscillating lines".
