Nordsnø Ensemble – skandinavische Folklore / Contemporary Jazz

In the organizer's words:

The Nordsnø Ensemble is dedicated to combining Scandinavian folklore with elements of contemporary jazz. The mystical moods of Scandinavian folk songs meet spherical soundscapes, penetrating rhythms and lyrical vocals.
The focus is on traditional songs and their lyrics, which are reinterpreted through colorful arrangements and sonorous improvisations, as well as original compositions. The collaboration with Kit Downes on the church organ creates another, completely new world of sound. Listeners feel transported to the untouched nature of the vast fjords, forests and the mysticism of the Scandinavian mountains and can escape the turbulence of everyday life for a moment.
