"Nowhere Man" shows a person who doesn't really want to, but has to. He actually wants something completely different. To be somewhere else. To be for himself. But as a performer he has to show the audience something, in the best case even entertain them. And since he's there anyway, he might as well enjoy the show. If it weren't for this voice from offstage that keeps telling him what to do next, interrupting him and somehow not making any sense. The result is a dance between wanting and having to, hiding and fleeing, inside and outside.
