Bringing hip hop records to life
Nujakasha are four young musicians who bring hip-hop records to life. The band consists of Julian Blumenthaler (keys, violin), Joshua Höhn González (guitar), Philipp Volkholz (bass) and Vincent Crusius (drums). Based in Berlin, Munich and Nuremberg, they came together as a quartet in 2018 for the musical collaboration with Ferge X Fisherman and found their sound in acoustic hip-hop with lots of jazz elements. Musically, Nujakasha can be found somewhere between Anderson.Paak's Free Nationals, Thundercat, The Roots, Velstrio and Tribez. In addition to their love of detailed grooves and rhythmic playfulness, the band also scores with their energetic and genre-spanning sets as well as their wide-ranging musical training at the music academies in Nuremberg, Klagenfurt and Munich. In addition to the producer-MC duo, the quartet has already collaborated with international and national artists such as Noah Slee, Black Milk, Takuya Kuroda, Felisha George, Hunter Rose, Victoryaz and many more.
After five years as backliners, the band released their debut EP "At the Nujakasha" in October 2023. Listeners are invited into the imaginary Nujakasha bar on record and at the live concerts, and the songs focus on the different characters of the regulars. (Just) an evening "At the Nujakasha".
