Thomas Meinecke and some of his novel characters find themselves in Amorbach in the Odenwald, where Theodor W. Adorno used to spend his summer holidays. The forest does not remain without influence on the guests, for it is an Odenwald forest in the truest sense of the word, in which not only fairytale figures but all kinds of shady characters roam. The new novel (Suhrkamp) by author, musician and columnist Thomas Meinecke is a dazzling masterpiece that incorporates motifs from the Wild West as well as elements from medieval poetry and deconstructivist feminist discourse. And above all lies the concert music of the 20th century - this novel owes a debt to Adorno.
