Odessa Classics 2024: Kammerkonzert

PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:

In 2024, the Odessa Classics music festival, founded by Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov, will celebrate its tenth anniversary. Until the outbreak of war, the festival took place annually in Odessa; since then, it has been held in various cities in Western Europe in a modified form with the participation of international artists. For the concerts on September 24, 26 and 29, 2024, around 50 Ukrainian musicians living in exile will now travel to Bremen to give a total of three concerts in the Sendesaal and the Great Hall of the Glocke. The festival is also being organized as part of the long-standing musical partnership between Bremen and Odessa, which Alexey Botvinov initiated together with the Bremen RathsChor.

In this concert, Alexey Botvinov will perform a chamber concert in the Sendesaal Bremen with the ensemble "Artehatta" (cond.: Myroslava Kotorovych). The young twelve-piece ensemble originally comes from Kiev, but most of its members now live in exile, scattered across Europe, in Tallinn, Graz and Germany.

Program:

  • Myroslav Skoryk (1938* Lviv - 2020* Kiev): "Melody"
  • Zoltan Almashi (1975* Lviv) "Refarefa" (Dedicated to the Warriors of the Heavenly Hundred)
  • Edvard Grieg: Suite "From Holberg's Time"
  • Victoria Polyova: "Metta"
  • Philip Glass: "Tirol Concerto" for piano and orchestra

Performers:
