The comprehensive democratization and radical expansion of what makes a good life possible, unconditionally, free of charge and for everyone: that is public luxury. The book by "communia", which was published by Karl Dietz Verlag on November 1, 2021, tells of this vision.

Public Luxury is our vision for a major social change that not only prevents everything from getting worse, but also guarantees that there is something to gain. By socializing different areas of life - from housing and health to mobility and energy supply, food supply and education - it has enormous potential to connect different social forces in a larger, overarching project. In this workshop, we want to discuss the potential of Public Luxury as an inspiring narrative for new left majorities and as a political strategy to build new, productive alliances. Together we want to deepen and concretize Public Luxury and strengthen our political work with this unifying orientation.
