Open Air-Konzert: Wihtner FaGo & Chana Davila // anschl. Silent Disco mit Ko'eyene-Team

In the organizer's words:

Festival Theaterformen 2024

The well-known Theaterformen concerts at Gartenhaus Haeckel are back! Shipibo Konibo hip-hop artist Wihtner FaGo from the Peruvian Amazon region delivers a rousing rap performance.

With powerful music and artistic activism, Wihtner FaGo shows us the richness of his Shipibo Konibo culture and highlights the challenges facing his community in the Ucayali region. He will shed light on indigenous forms of knowledge and inspire us to stand up for social and ecological justice.

Janeth Roxana Davila Nunta aka Chana Davila belongs to the Shipibo-Konibo community and was born in San Luis. From an early age, she was taught the wisdom of her culture. She learned what it means to protect the home, to respect the value of the family and how important it is to fight for your own rights. This experience led to her acquiring knowledge and entering spaces of resistance. She found a way to make her voice heard in the songs of Masha (Ikaros Shipibos), which are expressed in hip-hop. In this way, she conveys awareness of issues such as resistance, assertiveness, love, protection and the culture of life.

Following the concert by Withner FaGo & Chana Davila, we invite everyone to our Silent Disco. Dance to the DJ set by the Ko'eyene team.

The concert will take place at the Ko'eyene festival center. Ko'eyene brings indigenous artists from various South American communities and regions to Braunschweig to facilitate an intercultural dialog that is shaped by them. In the Theaterpark, a place of solidarity and collective action will be created to face the common challenges of our time and to stand up for Indigenous rights and sovereignty on a transnational level.
