OPEN HOUSE: Methamorphoses

Collective, interdisciplinary theater by Open House

We are Open House, a self-organized group of young people and young adults who want to work politically and self-determinedly in the theater before professionalizing themselves. Professionalization in theater has many thresholds: the education threshold, the income threshold, the age threshold. Many - especially young - people bounce off these thresholds and fail to make it into the elite world of theater.

For our third joint project, we are building on our last play (Open House presents: Shame). We are dealing with the development, the metamorphosis out of shame. With the search for one's own identity.Together with the audience, we want to create a space for further development where everyone can grow

togetherand unfold their wings. Shame is both an emotion and an internalized repression - this became clear to us through our last piece development. We want to deal with it and move from acceptance into the next phase of self-discovery.

Wewant to feel together what growth looks like, what becoming oneself means.

How do you find yourself? Why now? How do I show myself and am I accepted?
