Quiet, shy, introverted: Daniil Trifonov often seems to be from another world. And perhaps he reveals this world in every one of his concerts. Because when the native Russian and New Yorker-by-choice sits down at the piano, an incomparable magic unfolds, eliciting sounds and feelings from his instrument that seem to defy rational explanation. It is fitting that he will play Robert Schumann's highly romantic and fantastic piano concerto at ProArte. With Hector Berlioz' intoxicating Symphonie fantastique , the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal presents the instrumental counterpart to Schumann's introverted soundscapes in the second half of the concert.
