Pandemonium

In the organizer's words:

"It's serious. Take it seriously too." On 18.03.2020, Angela Merkel appeals to the public's discipline in a televised speech. At that time, the streets were empty, toilet paper and pasta were hoarded, the Steigerlied was sung from the windows and hospital staff were applauded. The Tageschau achieved ratings like only soccer, which had suddenly stopped.

Jens Dornheim and Dominik Hertrich (theater glassbooth), Dirk Gerigk and Stefan Bahl (bs-films) took to the streets in April 2020, during the first lockdown. They spoke to people, received submissions of self-recorded clips, shot feature film scenes in a small team and tried to record people's opinions, concerns, insecurities and emotions.
The result is "Pandemonium", a film that now feels like a journey through time, to the beginnings of the pandemic; an event that will occupy us for years to come.
