Through detailed and poignant narratives, some of the films in this year's edition provide insight into the characters' lonely reflections, the impact of grief and the paths to healing. How do narratives of isolation and loss reflect and influence individual and collective identities? This panel discussion explores the complex themes of legacy, resilience, loneliness and grief in African cinema. The discussion aims to critically examine the cinematic techniques, narrative strategies and poetry used to convey loneliness and grief, and to create a deeper understanding of resilience and emotional depth within African communities.
