Paradiessucher

Paradiessucher is a tragicomic story based on true events from 1986 and another theater project sponsored by the Freie Theater Company as part of cultural education. The topic concerns us more than ever; Cold War - flight - mother-daughter relationship - integration - loss of home - 80s - puberty. The exciting thing about the work is not only the broadening of historical horizons on this historical topic, but also the fact that Dumont herself takes on the role of her own mother as a contemporary witness and the girls play the 17-year-old protagonist Lenka, quasi Dumont from back then. The boys play all the other roles. No new costumes or sets will be purchased or built. The costumes are created from old clothes and the stage set is designed from existing furniture. An upcycling of what already exists. The young actors of the Independent Theater Company are tackling the role using professional acting techniques. This time, the youngest members of Dumont's Drama Club are also involved.
