Canada and Alaska - synonymous with wild nature, freedom and adventure, encounters with bears, moose, whales and the Northern Lights dancing in the sky. The longing for the untouched in the midst of this vast nature leads travel journalist Pascal Violo on an adventurous tour to the far north of the American continent. In search of the unique wilderness, Pascal sets off for the Rocky Mountains and explores the untouched wilderness of Denali National Park. The travel journalist manages to fly around the summit of the "coldest mountain in the world" in a small propeller plane.
Together with his family, Violo crosses the Inside Passage, a deserted island world in south-east Alaska, on a small sailing boat for several weeks. Accompanied by humpback whales, this sea adventure becomes an unforgettable experience.
As a river nomad, Pascal Violo paddles 800 km through the eternal forests of Canada along the Yukon, the longest free-flowing river in the world. From his canoe, he experiences the autumnal spectacle of color. The uninvited visit of a bear to the tent briefly takes the adventurer's breath away. Nevertheless, he finally reaches Dawson City and follows in the footsteps of the famous Jack London and the moving story of the gold seekers.
Pascal Violo experiences the fascinating world of indigenous cultures on an impressive Pow Wow and immerses himself in the colorful dances and traditional rituals. At the end of his expeditions, Violo awaits an unforgettable encounter in the Arctic at Hudson Bay: the travel photographer observes polar bears and their cubs at close range and, in these formative moments, understands the fragile connection between man and nature.
On Sunday, 30.03.25, Pascal Violo will make a guest appearance at 18:30 in the Kongresshalle Gießen. Tickets are available from € 27.40 at www.stagecat.de and at all advance booking offices.
