Under the simple title PEOPLE, the 5th anniversary of the Leica Store & Gallery Stuttgart is the occasion for the group exhibition.

On display are five positions that cover different facets of the portrait: The portraits were created almost exclusively in the context of serial projects and range from close-ups and spontaneous creation stories to precisely planned image compositions. The portraits show the personality of the individuals portrayed as well as their interaction with the photographers.

Ingrid Hertfelder asked the actors of Schauspiel Stuttgart about their fictional places of longing and portrays the actors in front of the green screen for the seamless merging of portrayed reality and AI-generated fiction. Claus Rudolph also creates visual worlds that invite us to dream. His complex stagings are constructed on location and are usually created without retouching - one of his most recent stagings shows him in a self-portrait. In his latest series "Nocturne", Alwin Maigler once again works with dancers from the Stuttgart Ballet. The ballet dancers are detached from the stage context and conquer Stuttgart's urban space, whereby the motifs from different worlds merge into something new. Dennis Kupfer portraysthe "legends" of VfB Stuttgart's history in subtle close-ups, creating a soccer team for the exhibition that has never actually been on the pitch together - a tantalizing mind game. Alex Schwander portrays "colleagues" in his series. In this way, we encounter personalities who have already exhibited at the Leica Gallery Stuttgart and have a spatial or personal connection to the city.

The exhibition "PEOPLE" can be seen from November 8, 2024 to January 18, 2025 at the Leica Gallery Stuttgart (Calwer Straße 41). The gallery is open from Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 6.30 pm and Saturday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. Free admission. The works in the exhibition are available for purchase.
