Performanceführung: Raphaela Vogel über Mike Kelley

In the organizer's words:

Where is the f*ing anchor of Charon? Raphaela Vogel on Mike Kelley

Talk and performance as part of the exhibition "Mike Kelley: Ghost and Spirit"

With Juliane Liebert and Daniel Roth

Precisely because she does not see herself as a Mike Kelley expert, the parallels between the art of Raphaela Vogel, born in 1988, and that of Mike Kelley are surprising: themes such as dressage and education; the unprejudiced choice of themes and media; the integration of found materials such as dolls; the taking of fictions and fantasies seriously; and a liberating, anarchic power. Raphaela Vogel will respond to the questions posed by Kolja Reichert, head curator of K21, with a singing sculpture consisting of her, the author Juliane Liebert and the artist Daniel Roth.

Raphaela Vogel has had solo exhibitions at Haus der Kunst Munich, Kunsthalle Basel, Kunsthaus Bregenz and De Pont Museum Tilburg, among others. In 2022, her work was part of the main exhibition at the Venice Art Biennale.

Juliane Liebert is a writer and journalist for publications including Der Spiegel, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit. Her book publications include "lieder an das große nichts" (Suhrkamp 2021) and "Der Körper ist ein billiger Koffer" (2016)

Daniel Roth is a poet, artist and musician. He was most recently seen in the ZDF production "Las Vegas".
