A man is alone on stage. He enjoys it and wonders where the boundaries to loneliness are. He has the feeling that he has to do something, but doesn't really want to. Does he want to be something completely different? Can he really enjoy what he is right now?
In a dance with objects, the space comes alive and a life between desire and conflict is revealed.
Nowhere Man is a dance between wanting and having to, inside and outside, being alone and the search for exchange.
performing:group is an ensemble for dance, physical theater and performance from Cologne. performing:group works regionally and tours internationally. They have been creating pieces for young and adult audiences since 2012. Playfulness, ambiguity and sustainability are central to their work. In their plays, they rely on lightness, irony and sometimes silly humor, even when dealing with complex social issues. They are always looking for a non-verbal, humorous, physically precise and sonorous realization that consciously allows for ambiguity.
