Pestpocken (Punk aus Gießen)

PESTPOCKEN have stood for authentic, political punk rock with clenched fists and flaming hearts for over 25 years. The band from Gießen Asozial tears up every stage with explosive shows, from festival stages to squat basements and from Frankfurt to Moscow. Driving hardcore punk meets an angry female voice, energetic male vocals and anthemic choirs. PESTPOCKEN have their musical and idealistic roots in the German punk of the early 80s.

The D.I.Y. festivals in Giessen to celebrate the band's 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th anniversaries are highlights in the band's history. Further highlights were tours through Russia, England & Israel, the appearance of the PESTPOCKEN in the film "Punk" of the German-French channel ARTE as well as in the film "Chaostage", which was shown in over 150 German cinemas at the beginning of 2009.
