When the instrumental doom band OMEGA MASSIF announced its dissolution, members Andreas Schmittfull and Christof Rath re-formed under the name PHANTOM WINTER. The aim was to create extreme music. They called the style "Winterdoom". Melancholy meets cold and rage. The drumming is brutal and staccato, modeled on machines and monsters.
