"We've never tried that before, so I'm sure it will be fine."
When Tommy and Annika meet Pippi Longstocking, they learn to see the world through different eyes. Pippi not only has a suitcase full of gold, her horse "Little Uncle" and the monkey "Mr. Nilsson" - she is also the strongest girl there is and does what she likes.
Pippi Longstocking has become a cult figure and role model for many children and adults. For 75 years, she has embodied the longing for non-conformity and strength, but above all for freedom, of which her inventor Astrid Lindgren once said: "Freedom means that you can speak your mind and that you don't have to do everything like everyone else." Pippi lives by her own rules as a matter of course and still doesn't want to offend anyone. Free spirits, forward thinkers and social support at the same time - something we perhaps need more than ever in these times? Basically: desire and reality! Those who reinterpret the world can also change it.
Jette Steckel stages the stories of a unique heroine and friend as an imaginative journey for us all: "I invite everyone big and small to my place".
