When Gregor wakes up from his dreams one morning, he realizes that he has turned into a beetle. But his family doesn't believe him. Why can't they see that he suddenly has a shell and antennae? Nobody notices Gregor's transformation at the bus stop either. Only on the school bus does his best friend realize that something is different. "What have you done to Gregor?" he asks the beetle. "Where is my very best friend?" Together they get to the bottom of the beetle's existence. In "Plötzlich Käfer", director Hannah Biedermann, who recently staged "Der rote Baum" at the Moks, tells the story of the search for one's own identity and what makes us stand up on our sixth leg on some days. "Suddenly Beetle" asks how we understand ourselves and how others perceive us. Lawrence David's children's book "Help, Gregor is suddenly a bug!" serves as a model, in which Kafka's famous story "The Metamorphosis" is translated into a child's perspective.
