Pojaz May 31 - 19:30
Sometimes slowly striding, sometimes exuberantly jumping, that's how this music comes along - klezmer music - originally the folk music of the Jews of Eastern Europe, today the name for a world music that was and is subject to the musical influences of many cultures, and which has become a music that unites the world. The group Pojaz interprets the mostly traditional melodies in its own way.
Stylistic elements from classical music, jazz and blues through to free improvisations are incorporated without alienating the actual character of the music, a music that is clearly recognizable and yet constantly changing. Some pieces are like driving a car too fast, you end up on the grass verge with one wheel and then catch yourself again at the last moment. And some passages seem to emerge straight from the primal depths of human existence.
