PoP: „Entkommen“

The Werk*raum is getting a new format: PoP - Performance without Rehearsal! Employees of the Münchner Kammerspiele venture into unique pop-up evenings. Popcorn included!

Get to know the employees of the Kammerspiele and their creative ideas better: this is possible with the new event series "PoP" in the Werk*raum! On December 14, assistant director Hannah Waldow will take on the short story collection "Entkommen" by Joshua Groß. Together with the ensemble, she asks: Who are you, human being; where do you come from; where are you going and who do you want to be?

Linguistically aware and serious, full of humor and with the polished precision of quirky images, Joshua Groß creates a literary hall of mirrors in "Entkommen". Nuremberg, Elektroluchs and Bergamo are the very real starting points for kaleidoscopic worlds and stories that repeatedly take astonishing turns: The wrestler Alchemist Teaz disappears but continues to send meaningful messages, the enigmatic Professor Kemander discovers her fascination for an ancient tree, and Jellyfish P from Flexen in Miami also inscribes himself into these stories with his Twitter feed. Rappers A$AP Rocky and Lil Wayne appear, Werner Herzog and Maggie Nelson are interviewed, Donna Haraway and Marcus Steinweg offer advice and comfort. Joshua, who is author, narrator and character at the same time, thinks, notes and invents with them. This results in stories and essays that, in an irrepressible desire for the present, create a very unique sense of reality: against self-abandonment, against hypocrisy - and for unconditional writing, driven by humor and depth, to the point of breaking boundaries.

The Werk*raum will host a unique evening that brings generations into conversation, sheds light on their fears, dreams and visions, but also reveals their dependencies and relationships.

In the "PoP" series, employees of the Münchner Kammerspiele will present their own artistic projects to the audience in the Werk*raum. Afterwards, Hannah Saar, the artistic director of the Werk*raum, will talk to the evening's artistic directors about their work at the Münchner Kammerspiele and the process of their own creative work.
