POP FREAKS: Horizontaler Gentransfer

In the organizer's words:

Starting out as an ambitious art project at the ABK Stuttgart, the band Horizontaler Gentransfer quickly became a sensation: six female artists with a migration background who combine elements of K-punk, a spoken word performance and art pop songs in their songs and build cultural bridges with their pointed lyrics - Empowerment Karaoke! There are songs about being Korean in Stuttgart, lyrical confrontations with experiences of racism and butter pretzels, Thomas Bernhard and BTS references and much more to discover. Last year, they only played a few gigs at About Pop, Most Wanted: Music and the blechsonne festival. But wherever HGT perform, they leave a lasting impression. Their second album "BBong" is due to be released in spring 2025 on Treibender Teppich Records and Sternengruppe.
