PopAffaire 2025 - Franco-German music at zakk

On January 21, 2025, the zakk in Düsseldorf will be the place where Franco-German music comes to life! With Ichon, the French artist who has become known for his unique blend of hip-hop, chanson and indie - including his acclaimed Colors show- and Sprachmemo, the Düsseldorf duo that inspires with emotional German pop and danceable sounds. An interactive quiz will also provide a surprise for the evening!

Why is this evening so special? On January 22nd, the German-French Day is celebrated - a symbol of the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Germany and France. Serge&Nina is committed to bringing this partnership to life through music with intercultural music projects and making French culture more visible in Germany.

Ichon - An artist without borders
Ichon is breaking new, unconventional ground in hip-hop. With undeniable writing talent and an amazing sense of aesthetics, the rapper and singer has continued to fascinate and confuse since his first project "Cyclique" in 2014. He dares to break away from traditional genres and create his own deeply authentic sound. Poetry, melancholy and a love of experimentation merge into a very unique soundscape that combines hip-hop with jazz, chanson and indie elements. Ichon allows his listeners to share in his inner conflicts, his vulnerability and at the same time his joie de vivre. He is an artist who does not bind himself to expectations, but writes his own story - full of depth, sensitivity and musical elegance.

Language memo - emotions in worlds of sound
"What you feel is important, and you're not alone in it." This is what the songs by Düsseldorf band Sprachmemo make clear. A summer hit was written for a sunny picnic by the lake with paprika and hummus, which tasted so good that the German pop duo Sprachmemo was formed. With role models such as Paula Hartmann, FKA Twigs and Mura Masa, they write and produce their songs in their own sound worlds and release their never-sent voice memos. Their music is a mirror of the feelings that often remain unspoken in everyday life and transforms them into danceable, melancholic and at the same time powerful sounds that touch you right away. Sprachmemo manages to create an intimate atmosphere that feels universal and close at the same time.
