Since 1991, the Potsdam Dance Festival has established itself as an outstanding international artistic highlight in Potsdam and is one of the largest performing arts festivals in the state of Brandenburg. Every year, the festival invites dance companies from all over the world to Potsdam and thus offers an internationally top-class spectrum of different dance theater forms. For twelve days, the state capital of Brandenburg becomes a stage for the international dance scene.

The performances form the core of the festival: solo works and large ensembles, narrative dance theater and pure movement, pieces for children and unusual performances alternate in a rich program. The aim is to present the diversity of the current international dance scene, which is characterized by its high level of creativity. A special focus of the festival is the proximity between audience and artists. The workshops, which are aimed at interested amateurs and professional dancers, are therefore an integral part of the festival, as are the audience discussions, which encourage an exchange with the choreographers and the audience after the performances. Concerts, dance films, installations and DJs complete the program and invite you to linger in Schiffbauergasse.
