Potsdamer Tanztage: Mechanics of Distance – Pictograms | Máté Mészáros (Budapest)

During the pandemic, Máté Mészáros transformed his choreography Mechanics of Distance into a participatory walk. The aim of this adaptation was to disseminate the work despite lockdowns and restrictions. The participants follow a route on which they imitate the movements of nine pictograms designed by a Hungarian artist. They become dancers and experience collaborative movements and changing spatial dynamics. Participants can take the pictograms with them in a booklet to recreate the choreography on their own and have a unique urban experience.
