POWERSOLO is a rock'n'roll band founded in 1996 in Aarhus, Denmark, by singer/guitarist Kim "Kix" Jeppesen. POWERSOLO is an active group, touring internationally and extensively throughout Europe and the US, constantly recording records and appearing on several soundtracks for television and film, including the Danish-Canadian crime drama Himmerland and the American television series True Blood and American Horror Story.

Their sound, which the band describes as "donkey punk", is characterized by an often hectic and raw mixture of garage, punk, psychobilly, surf and world music. This patois leans heavily on a blues-based rock sound, often recorded with what could be described as utilitarian, obscure or primitive technique. This gives their recordings a very authentic sounding vintage aesthetic.

POWERSOLO's live shows often leave even the most seasoned concertgoers bewildered, but always entertained by their whimsical and goofy, yet menacing stage antics - if not by the simple raw power this group delivers to the audience at every performance.

POWERSOLO brings together an unmistakably widespread blend of garage, punk, rockabilly, psychobilly, surf, psychedelic, acid rock, blues, world music, country and hard rock. It is not a band that can be pigeonholed. Their influences bounce back and forth on each record, showing the versatility of the group while still giving all their compositions a retro rock vibe. This is held together sonically by an often analog-driven or lofi approach to recording. You could say that POWERSOLO's sound is more stripped down, but never minimalist rock'n'roll.
