Preview auf dem Kiez: NDR zeigt „Hiphop - Made in Germany“ auf St. Pauli - Karten zu gewinnen

German-language hip-hop now has a history stretching back decades. The origins and developments as well as important protagonists of the genre are shown in the four-part ARD documentary series "Hiphop - Made in Germany". NDR invites you to a preview on Tuesday, January 23, at the Kiez in Hamburg-St. Pauli. Tickets for the screening are not available for free sale and will be sold exclusively by lottery. The winners will be informed of the exact location and time of the event.

Excerpts from the documentary will be shown on the preview evening. These will be embedded in talks on various hip hop topics. The live act will be rapper LIZ. Beginner co-founder Denyo, who will be performing as a DJ after the preview, will also be there. The evening will be hosted by Simon Vogt, YOU FM presenter and host of the YouTube channel "Deutschrap ideal".

"Hiphop - Made in Germany" is a portrait of the who's who of the German hip-hop scene. Rap legends, newcomers and scene greats have their say. The documentary series spans an arc from the beginnings of German rap to the present day, takes a critical look at hip-hop as a cultural lens for social grievances and uses exclusive archive material to link the evolution of the genre with contemporary German history - from divided Germany, squatting, graffiti culture, the Kohl era to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Merkel years.

"Hiphop - Made in Germany" will be available in full in the ARD media library from Tuesday, January 23.
