Meg Ryan returns to the big screen as an actress in the genre in which she is particularly popular, a romantic comedy, with her second directorial effort "What Happens Later".

Snowed in overnight at the airport - this is not how Bill (David Duchovny) and Willa (Meg Ryan) imagined their reunion. When the memories of their great love at college bring back feelings they thought had long been extinguished, there is a touch of magic in the air.

"What if?" This variation comes into play at a time when Willa and Bill are facing difficult personal decisions. When nothing works at the airport and there's nothing to do in the waiting area but talk, harmless banter turns into an evening of accusations, confessions and the realization that the passion that once brought them together never really died. The previously impenetrable walls between Bill and Willa begin to crumble, and it almost seems as if not only the stars, but even the PA system is trying to bring them back together.

Meg Ryan (Harry and Sally, Sleepless in Seattle) not only plays one of the two leads, but also directs WHAT HAPPENS LATER, a classic romantic comedy fit for the 21st century and with a dash of magic. The screenplay by Steven Dietz, Kirk Lynn (Rules for Werewolves) and Ryan is based on the play "Shooting Star" by Dietz. David Duchovny (The X-Files, Californication) can be seen alongside Ryan in the male lead role.
