Queerfilmfestival 2024

PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:

From Thursday, September 5 to Wednesday, September 11, the Queer Film Festival will once again celebrate the diversity of queer cinema for an entire week - this year in eleven cities simultaneously!

The first titles of the 18-film cinema program have already been announced: the festival will open with the wonderfully optimistic Belgian coming-of-age film "Young Hearts", which tells the story of a poignant teenage love between two boys, from which the coming-out develops quite naturally.

Also in the program: Markus Stein's portrait film "Baldiga - Entsichertes Herz" about the pioneering Berlin photographer Jürgen Baldiga (1959-1993); Janis Pugh's working-class musical "Chuck Chuck Baby" about a chicken factory worker who falls in love all over again with her childhood crush; Inari Niemi's romantic coming-of-age film "Light Light Light" about two teenagers whose feelings explode in the cloud-shadow of Chernobyl in 1980s Finland; Zacharias Mavroeidis' gay bromance "Summer with Carmen", which shows that Greek cinema can not only be abysmal, but also playful, sexy and super queer; and Bruce LaBruce's "The Visitor", a radical, anarchist-queer reinterpretation of Pier Paolo Pasolini's masterpiece "Teorema".
