Hello art enthusiasts, poetry slam fans and queers!
Queerslam is back at last! Six poets vie for the audience's favor in the competition. They must adhere to three rules: they may only perform texts they have written themselves, they may not use props and they may not be on stage for longer than what feels like six minutes. The texts are often as varied as the performers themselves. It will be funny, loud, political, touching, thought-provoking - you name it!
On this evening, only queer artists will be on stage to make spoken word spaces more colorful and to explicitly make people who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community heard. There will be a cheeky moderator and a featured artist to prepare the audience for the sport of words.
We strive to make our events as safe as possible so that everyone feels comfortable and can participate in great art. Any form of discrimination has no place here. In order to live up to this claim, we have an awareness person on site who is available during the event for questions, criticism and emotional support. Above all, we want to help create queer safer spaces in which all participants can enjoy culture without having to pretend. So come as you are: colorful, loud, covered, alone or in groups: however u feel comfortable.
In December, we want to organize a cool, queer speed dating event after the slam. We think there needs to be more explicit queer networking and flirting in general hehe. We are planning 20 minutes, so 4 x 5 minutes in which you can get to know someone from the room. We give you an impulse or a question that you can consider in your 5 minutes or not. But there is no pressure: you don't have to fall in love or look for romantic partners - we want to offer a cool little platform for exchange. How you use it is up to you (to negotiate)! So come to the slam, stay for the dating and have a wonderful evening with us! <3
Admission starts at 6 pm, the slam at 7 pm. Admission is by donation at the Box Office. Pay what you want!
