Radka Roma has died - vaudeville artist, singer, dancer - and outsider. A small newspaper clipping brings the news to the countryside between Bremen and Hamburg: to Alfred, also an outsider, affected by polio that was recognized too late, whose guardian angel was Radka. And to policeman Werner, who was unable to solve a murder at the time. Johano Strasser's new novel tells of these and other people, of their secrets and transgressions. It is a tenderly poetic and at the same time highly political novel that senses the big world events in the microcosm of a small village community (Bibliothek der Provinz).
