RAH & The Ruffcats - this is the electrifying encounter between one of the leading artists of the Berlin music scene and one of the most sought-after bands in the country. The Berlin band The Ruffcats, consisting of eight accomplished musicians, has established itself as an indispensable institution on the German live music scene since its foundation in 2007 and has collaborated with artists such as Georgia Anne Muldrow, Sweet Charles and Ivy Quainoo. Their multi-faceted sound of Afrobeat, funk, soul and hip-hop is inspired by their own musical roots and by artists such as Curtis Mayfield.

Together with the Lagos-born, Berlin-based singer, rapper and songwriter RAH, an outstanding improvisational talent and founder of the legendary Swag Jam Sessions, they have created an unmistakable musical world. The debut album "Orile To Berlin" tells of RAH's journey and cultural influences and combines Afrobeat, highlife and funk with hip-hop energy and a modern attitude. Produced by Jochen Ströh, the producer behind Ebo Taylor's classics, and mixed by the experienced sound engineers of the Kwashibu Area Band, the album sets new accents in Afrobeat - without being a mere Fela Kuti copy.
