Amysterious, musical evening

They are magical, archaic, spooky and often full of surprising humor: the legends, stories and myths that surround the Raunächte. From St. Thomas's Eve on December 21 to Three Kings' Day, future brides and grooms appear in dreams, cattle talk, Venedigermandl wander through the mountain night, the Wild Hunt rides on horseback and Frau Percht deals with the nameless deceased children. The author and storyteller Karl-Heinz Hummel has dug up many of the old stories, added new ones and reads them in Bavarian dialect. The program is accompanied by music from the six-piece Kampp-Musi on dulcimer, guitar, bass and clarinet. They revive the wonderful pieces of music from the NaglMusi, which disbanded in 2019. The result is a live Bavarian radio play.

Press reviews:

...masters of the musical, alpine art of storytelling... (Süddeutsche Zeitung)

...the texts cause eerie shivers and liberating laughter in equal measure, (Berchtesgadener Anzeiger)

...the texts in this wonderful book also take us to local regions - from the Brixen and Achental valleys to the Wilder Kaiser. (Tirolensie of the month December 2019)

...The program is a fantastic interweaving of language and music. Sometimes one of the instruments accompanies Karl-Heinz Hummel's performance, sometimes the instruments are used onomatopoeically to acoustically depict the wind or the Wild Hunt. At other times, however, the six musicians offer independent instrumental folk music at its finest (kulturvisionen Oberbayern)

The event takes place in the Kurt Mahler Saal (south pavilion entrance - right-hand entrance)
