#1 Mira Mann (text) & Henriette Nagel (performance)
For the first edition of our new ZIRKA series, we have invited the poet Mira Mann and the actress Henriette Nagel. Together with them, we will immerse ourselves in LOVESONGS, Mira Mann's latest poetry collection. An evening of text, performance and music awaits us.
Henriette Nagel was born in Berlin in 1992. She was 14 when she first appeared in front of the camera for the film "Freche Mädchen". After graduating from high school, she studied French and literature and gained her first theater experience at the Volksbühne youth club "P14". She trained as an actress from 2012 to 2016 at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music and Theater in Leipzig. During her studies, she performed at Schauspiel Köln for two studio years.
Her first theater engagement took her to the Theater Bielefeld and from there, after three years, to the Munich Volkstheater, where she has now been a member of the ensemble for five years.
Mira Mann works transdisciplinary in the fields of poetry, music and performance. She deals with sex, illness, motherhood and violence in a radically personal way. In doing so, she makes common role clichés and social attributions resonate. In her work, she forges links between actors from a wide range of genres and consciously crosses the boundaries of so-called high culture and subculture. "In her books, in her music, in her performances, Mira Mann creates electrifying rhythms that breathe softly, that set the pace as if by themselves, tastes of consciousness." (Anne Stukenborg).
