The multiple Grimme Award winner talks about her very personal documentary film work!

The filmsociety presents a workshop discussion with the renowned filmmaker Regina Schilling at the KunstSalon , followed by a screening of "Kulenkampff's Shoes" at the Odeon!

preceded by a short talk with Regina Schilling about the film

Regina Schilling has been working as a director of documentaries since 1999 and has received numerous awards for her work. Her essay film "Kulenkampffs Schuhe" (Kulenkampff's Shoes), which won the Grimme Prize again in 2019 alongside other awards, uses the German show stars Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff, Hans Rosenthal and Peter Alexander to follow how the post-war repression was dealt with on television and what leaked out between the lines. This is followed in 2022 by the intensive portrait of the pianist "Igor Levit - No Fear" and finally in 2023 by "Diese Sendung ist kein Spiel - Die unheimliche Welt des Eduard Zimmermann" - another essay on the post-war television landscape, this time with its disciplinary function as a fear-monger of deviation from the norm. Regina Schilling is currently working on a film about German-Turkish history from the end of the Second World War to the present day.
