Rhein-Main-Open Ensemble: Von Pferdedieben und Feen

In the Rhein-Main-Open Ensemble, students from the Big Band Master's program at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) and jazz students from the Mainz University of Music make music together. Every semester, exciting programs for large ensembles are developed and performed under different directors. The aim of this project is to network the regional jazz scene more closely, pool resources and create synergies between the two music academies.

This semester, Ralph Abelein, co-director of the Master's degree course in Big Band, is taking over the musical direction of the ensemble. The program includes both current and older compositions and arrangements by him, which he has arranged especially for this line-up.

With: Nils Attermeyer (trumpet), Paul Scheugenpflug (alto saxophone), Gregor Schor (tenor saxophone), Jonathan Strieder (trombone), Roman Fritsch (baritone saxophone), Ralph Abelein (piano), Lucas Passos Brum (guitar), Mina Lichtenberg (bass), Kevin Naßhan (drums). Conductor: Prof. Ralph Abelein.
