Rocky Roots from Bavaria

From Kilimanjaro to Watzmann - from the lively marketplaces of East Africa to the cobbled main market of Nuremberg - from the shores of Lake Malawi to the wild Isar of the foothills of the Alps - from the savannah to the urban jungle. The musical fusion of all this is called 'roots CARAVAN'

From a drummer, a digital audio workstation and a voice in 2015, a 7-piece formation has emerged over the years. '...everything needs time to grow' is in retrospect certainly one of the most formative lines of this band from the Munich area.

The influence of the roots CARAVAN sound can be found in the cities and villages of East Africa, in the childhood of frontman Lukas, in the midst of Tanzanian church choirs full of joie de vivre and praise. Afropop, traditional Tanzanian music, Jamaican roots reggae and his parents' record collections have also had a great influence on the band. Much more important, however, is how each individual musician interprets each song for themselves, because only at this point does something magical happen in the collective, can the sound really pulsate, the passion for the music unfold and blossom.

The aim is to continue to grow. With each other, with each other - humanly and musically. After winning the KULT Songcontest 2018 in Augsburg, numerous festival and club appearances in southern Germany, our first album 'ONE' with 10 songs will finally be released in 2023, after the difficult Corona years. In the background, the 2nd album is already in the starting blocks, the singles 'Rebel' and 'Pickpocket' are about to be released. So it goes on, the 'roots KARAWANE', from year to year, from place to place, with messages of love, respect, healing and hope. Maybe soon in your neighborhood!
